5月31日 Solzhenitsyn saysDon't be afraid of misfortune, and do not yearn after happiness;
it is after all, all the same:
the bitter doesn't last forever,
and the sweet never fills the cup to overflowing.
ALEXANDER SOLZHENITSYN
tired of DOUBTING
this helps me stop.
learn from yesterday, make use of it today,
and save it for tomorrow. 5月28日 the day of the dragonboat.there's a certain bubbling
that builds up in your stomach
when the words "ATTENTION PLEASE!"
prepare you for the next one, "GO!"
everything gets familiar real fast.
the taste of sea water,
the tense muscles of your arm,
the tweaking of your shoulder blades,
and the paddle.
that's the only thing worth paying attention to:
the paddle.
the next words you shout
accompany the paddle
complement the paddle
exist for the paddle.
"ONE! TWO!"
there's at least 13 people behind you
and they holler the same words.
then it gets faint:
hello blisters, dry throats, and exhaustion.
but you keep going!
"ONEEE! TWOOO!"
nothing is harder than this moment
when everything is screaming at you to stop! give up! -
but you shut that out.
all that matters:
is that you know where you're going
and you're looking to get there.
with what?
why, the paddle of course.
the one thing worth looking at
is also the thing you never look at.
"DON'T LOOK AT YER PADDLE!"
never look at the paddle,
"Always look up!"
watch for it,
your finish line,
it's coming.
it's amazing
the things you teach me.
5月1日 the five people you meet in heaven.1st May
6:00 - 8:30 PM the five people you meet in heaven.
i don't know why:
but resorting to reading
has become a sort of habit
whenever i'm sad.
that doesn't mean
i don't like reading when i'm happy
it's just
i feel more inclined to read
when i'm sad.
it's like an escape.
where i close my life
as i open another
and indulge in it,
as if it were my own.
live the tale,
empathize with the hero,
and feel everything they feel.
here,
i'm allowed to let go
of everything that tears me apart
here,
i'm allowed to discover
why things tear me apart.
for a moment:
i thought it ignorant
just pick up another world
and run away from your own.
but no
that isn't it at all,
'cause when i open this world
and step away from mine...
only there
can i see myself.
